The Bimbo Adekanmbi Governorship Campaign Council of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State has announced the appointment of seasoned media professionals and other individuals to its Media and Publicity Sub-Committee ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced in a press statement issued by the Bimbo Adekanmbi Campaign Council and signed by Mr Yinka Oladoyinbo on September 26, 2026.

Under the new arrangement, Mr Yinka Oladoyinbo, a Deputy Editor of the Nigerian Tribune, Nigeria’s oldest newspaper, has been appointed Director of Communications and Spokesperson of the campaign council, while Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju will serve as Co-Director and Spokesperson.
Other members appointed as Deputy Directors of the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee are Ms Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa, Mr Dapo Falade, Mrs Bosede Sodiq, Mr Moses Alao and Mr Fisayo Daramola.
The appointments bring together media professionals with considerable experience in journalism, broadcasting, political reporting, public communication and digital media to serve in the campaign council’s media and publicity structure.
Oladoyinbo, who will head the committee, is a veteran journalist with 27 years of post-qualification experience in the media industry. He is currently a Deputy Editor at the Nigerian Tribune, where he also heads the newspaper’s Politics Desk.
Throughout his journalism career, Oladoyinbo has served as a state correspondent for Daily Trust and The Punch, covering Lagos, Ondo and Kogi states. His extensive experience in political reporting and newspaper administration has seen him occupy various positions of responsibility in the media industry.

Beyond journalism, Oladoyinbo is also a grassroots politician who recently served as Secretary of Ibadan South-West Local Government, Oyo State, bringing his experience in local government administration to his new assignment in the campaign council.
Similarly, Giwa-Onafuwa, who was appointed a Deputy Director, is an accomplished radio and television broadcasting professional with more than 16 years of experience in building brands, developing media platforms and shaping communication across Nigeria’s media landscape.
She has built much of her professional career in Ibadan, following an earlier foundation in music production and performance in London before returning to Nigeria in 2008.
Giwa-Onafuwa holds a Master’s degree in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan. She has also served twice as a General Manager in the broadcast media industry, demonstrating her experience in media management and administration.
In addition to her broadcasting career, she is a TEDx speaker, professional master of ceremonies and content creator. She is also a regular speaker at events and platforms focusing on media, communication and personal branding.
Her professional engagements extend beyond broadcasting, as she currently serves on the boards of Educare Trust and Alliance Française Ibadan, where she contributes to initiatives promoting education and cultural exchange.
Another prominent media professional appointed Deputy Director is Falade, a journalist with more than 20 years of experience in political reporting and newspaper journalism.
Falade built a distinguished career at the Nigerian Tribune, where he rose to the position of Deputy Editor. During his years at the newspaper, he held several key editorial responsibilities, including serving as State Correspondent in Ekiti and Rivers states and as the lead Senate Correspondent in Abuja.
His assignments provided him with extensive experience in political reporting, legislative coverage and regional affairs.
In May 2020, Falade established Newscoven.com, a digital news platform that has continued to expand its presence in the evolving new media landscape, delivering news and other journalistic content to its audience.
The inclusion of Oladoyinbo, Giwa-Onafuwa and Falade in the campaign council’s media team reflects the appointment of professionals with backgrounds spanning traditional journalism, broadcast media, political reporting, digital journalism and strategic communication.
The other appointees, comprising Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Mrs Bosede Sodiq, Mr Moses Alao and Mr Fisayo Daramola, will also serve in various capacities within the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee as the campaign council prepares for its activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The statement, dated September 26, 2026, confirmed that all the appointments had taken immediate effect.
The Media and Publicity Sub-Committee is expected to play a central role in the campaign council’s communication and publicity activities as the APM prepares for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
