The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has formally begun preparations for the 2027 general elections by commissioning the Makinde/Daura campaign headquarters in Abuja.

The party declared that its campaign to “reset Nigeria” had begun, rallying support for the presidential ticket of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and his running mate, Lawal Daura.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on Monday, the National Chairman of the APM, Dr. Yusuf Dantalle, described the Makinde/Daura ticket as an alternative to what he called Nigeria’s current “perilous course.”
Dantalle said the large turnout at the event reflected what he described as the desire of Nigerians for a new political direction anchored on competence, courage, compassion and accountability.
He described the newly commissioned campaign headquarters as the “engine room” of the party’s 2027 campaign, expressing optimism that the APM would emerge victorious in the forthcoming elections.
According to him, the party has also fielded candidates across the country as part of its preparations to contest the 2027 general elections.
The APM national chairman maintained that the Makinde/Daura ticket would offer Nigerians improved governance, stronger national security, economic prosperity and socio-religious harmony.
“Rest assured that Makinde will be President to all Nigerians as he has ably demonstrated as Governor of Oyo State,” Dantalle said.
Speaking further, Dantalle highlighted the security credentials of Daura, who previously served as the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS).
He argued that Daura’s experience in leading one of the country’s major security institutions would strengthen the capacity of the Makinde/Daura ticket to tackle insecurity if elected in 2027.
“With a competent vice presidential candidate, Daura, who once headed a critical security service in the country, insecurity will be tackled head-on,” he said.
The party said its proposed approach to national security would focus on confronting insecurity directly while pursuing a broader agenda for national development.
Dantalle also promised that the APM would run an issue-based campaign ahead of the 2027 elections, with emphasis on practical solutions, competence and the future of Nigeria.
He said the party would steer clear of what he described as politics of bitterness, division and hatred.
“This is our chance to build a strong, stable, united, prosperous, inclusive and just democratic society,” Dantalle stated.
He subsequently called on Nigerians to support APM candidates in the 2027 elections.
The APM chairman also pointed to the party’s reported performance in the local government elections in Bauchi State as an indication of its growing political prospects.
According to him, the party’s reported victory across all local government areas in Bauchi State was a “powerful signal” ahead of the national polls.
The APM maintained that its Makinde/Daura presidential ticket presents Nigerians with an alternative political platform as political parties and candidates intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections.
