The Oyo State governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Bimbo Adekanmbi, has strengthened his support for Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) with a ₦2.7 million financial commitment aimed at motivating the players, boosting fan attendance and supporting the club’s continental campaign.
Adekanmbi announced the package following Shooting Stars’ 2-1 victory over Inter Lagos on Friday, offering a ₦200,000 reward for every goal scored by the Oluyole Warriors during the encounter.
With 3SC scoring twice, the players earned a total of ₦400,000 under the goal-scoring incentive, a gesture intended to further motivate the team to sustain positive results.
The APM governorship candidate also committed ₦500,000 for the purchase of 1,000 match tickets for supporters attending Shooting Stars’ home matches.
The initiative is expected to strengthen the bond between the Ibadan-based club and its supporters, encourage increased attendance at home fixtures and help create a more vibrant atmosphere for the team.
The largest part of Adekanmbi’s latest intervention is a ₦2 million donation to support Shooting Stars’ participation in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The support comes as the historic Ibadan club prepares to represent Nigeria on the continental stage, with Adekanmbi expressing optimism that the team can build on the progress recorded under the current administration and make a strong impact in the competition.
He also expressed confidence in the leadership of Shooting Stars, saying the club is in safe hands, while urging the management to sustain its developmental efforts.
Adekanmbi said he hoped the present administration would consolidate its achievements and lead the Oluyole Warriors to greater heights both in domestic football and on the continental stage.
The latest financial intervention further highlights his commitment to Shooting Stars’ growth and development, while encouraging the players, management, and supporters to remain united in their collective pursuit of success.
