Over 400 farmers in Saki West have benefited from the eighth edition of Hon. Salaudeen Kabeer Adebayo’s agricultural empowerment programme during the current farming season, with a call for stronger collaboration among stakeholders to improve food production, productivity and food security.

Speaking at the programme, Hon. Kabeer said the initiative was not motivated by politics or campaign considerations, but by his understanding of the challenges facing farmers. He said the objective was to ease farmers’ burdens, provide necessary support and increase food production towards achieving surplus in the market.
The beneficiaries commended Hon. Kabeer for responding promptly to their needs, particularly at a challenging period for farmers. Alhaji Mikail Adesina described him as a long-standing and resourceful supporter of farmers, youths, students, women and the wider community, particularly through his NGO, Hope Never Dies.

Another beneficiary, Mr. Muideen Osasolo, appreciated the provision of modern farm tools and seedlings, saying the initiative had made farming easier and more productive. He urged beneficiaries to properly utilise the materials rather than sell them, while calling on the people of Saki West to make thoughtful choices in the coming elections.
A beneficiary from the seventh edition also shared a testimony of how seeds received through the programme yielded within a month and some weeks, providing his family with enough food, including tuwo, while enabling him to generate more than ₦50,000 from sales.

The event was attended by the APM Chairman, Leader of Saki West Legislative Arms, Saki West Councillors, Gboro Community Chairman, Baale Agbe, Prince Lawal Adebowale, representatives of Indorama, party faithful, women and youth leaders, among others.
