Confusion has gripped the Nigerian football community after Katsina United player Chinedu was reportedly declared dead, only for mortuary staff to later discover signs of life in his body.

The development has sparked widespread concern among football fans and the player’s former and current clubs, after Katsina United initially issued a condolence statement announcing his death.

Other clubs, including Heartland FC and Kano Pillars, also joined in mourning the player on social media following the announcement of his supposed death.

However, the situation took a dramatic turn when mortuary staff at Katsina General Hospital reportedly noticed movement in Chinedu’s body.

Following the discovery, the player was immediately transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where he was placed on oxygen and is currently receiving medical attention.

The media officer of Katsina United, Nasir Gide, confirmed the development, revealing that the player had reportedly been declared dead twice before signs of life were eventually noticed.

Heartland FC, one of Chinedu’s former clubs, also confirmed the development and urged fans and well-wishers to pray for his recovery.

As of Wednesday morning, Chinedu remains in critical condition at Katsina General Hospital, with the football community anxiously awaiting an official medical report on his condition and the circumstances surrounding the unusual incident.
