The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Saki West Branch, has opted for continuity in its leadership as Comrade Ajuwon Ibraheem Ayinde and members of his executive were re-elected unopposed for a second term in office.

The election, conducted in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere, saw all candidates returned without contest, reflecting the unity within the branch. The exercise was supervised by the Oyo State NULGE President, Comrade Ayobami Adeogun, who commended the branch for the orderly process and described the outcome as a clear demonstration of the prevailing peace in Saki West Local Government.

Adeogun praised Ajuwon as a “forthright comrade,” noting his consistent support for the progress of the union at both the local and state levels. He called on members to continue backing the leadership to ensure the success of the new tenure.

Also speaking, the Director of Administration and General Services, Barrister Adedeji, who represented the Head of Local Government Administration, Pastor S.O. Farounbi, eulogised the state executive led by Adeogun for representing the union effectively and for their efforts in making life more comfortable for members. He further commended the Saki West NULGE leadership for what he described as unprecedented achievements and urged them to do even more during their second term in office.

In his acceptance speech, Ajuwon, who also serves as Chairman of the NULGE Oke-Ogun Forum, expressed gratitude to the state executive, local government management, and staff members for their sustained confidence in his administration. He pledged to intensify efforts toward improving workers’ welfare, stating that the victory belongs to stakeholders and workers who have maintained a peaceful environment for the union to thrive.

Other members of the executive returned unopposed alongside Ajuwon include Comrade Abokede Dorcas as Vice-Chairman, Comrade Ajinawo Fatai Adesola as Secretary, Comrade Jimoh Aminat as Treasurer, Comrade Afolabi Mary as Woman Chairperson, Comrade Adewale Isaac A. as Assistant Secretary, Comrade Basheer Afeez Tony-Young as Young Workers’ Representative, Comrade Jacob Isaiah as Auditor, and Comrade Kareem Ganiyu as Trustee.

Observers noted that the seamless and uncontested election further reinforces stability within the Saki West local administration, positioning the branch to effectively navigate ongoing reforms in local government autonomy and enhance worker productivity across Oyo State.
