The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has officially shifted into election mode following the inauguration of new party chairmen across 30 of the 33 Local Government Areas. The ceremony, held at the state party secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, served as a strategic launchpad for the party’s “Reclaim Agodi” mission and the 2027 presidential bid.

In a statement released on Friday by the State Publicity Secretary, Wale Sadare, the party leadership made it clear that the newly sworn-in executives are now the “major handlers” of the party’s grassroots machinery.
The “Presidential Mandate” and Agodi Ambition
Addressing the gathering, the State Chairman and former Deputy Governor, Chief Moses Adeyemo, charged the new leaders with a specific, high-stakes objective: delivering over 80 percent of Oyo State’s total votes to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
“As LG party chairmen, you must be loyal to the leadership of the party and, more importantly, to President Bola Tinubu, who is our pride and joy of all time,” Adeyemo stated. He further emphasized that the ultimate goal is not just a federal win, but to “reclaim the Agodi Government House” from the ruling PDP in the state.

Unity and Conflict Resolution
Reflecting on the party’s internal journey, Adeyemo noted that the successful conduct of Ward, LGA, and State Congresses proves the APC has “come of age” in Oyo State. While 30 chairmen were inaugurated, the Chairman acknowledged that “two or three LGAs” are still experiencing challenges. However, he assured that the Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle-led Local Organising Committee is working to resolve these remaining issues within days.
