As the holy month of Ramadan enters its final stretch, the Saki West Local Government Secretariat Muslim Community has announced its highly anticipated annual Ramadan Lecture.

Scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, 2026 (22nd Ramadan, 1447 AH), the event promises to be a spiritually soul-searching session centered on the thought-provoking theme: “Living by the Quran: Myth or Reality?”

The guest lecturer, the renowned Ustaz AbdullGafar Adekunle, is expected to delve into the practicalities of Islamic teachings in the modern world, challenging the faithful to move beyond theory and embody the Quranic principles in their daily lives.

    • Time: 11:00 AM Prompt
    • Venue: Saki West Local Government Secretariat Premises

    Leadership and Hosting

The spiritual atmosphere of the day will be guided by the Chief Imam of the Saki West LG Secretariat Mosque, Alhaji Jimoh Oladoja.

The Executive Chairman of Saki West Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Akinola, serves as the Chief Host, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to fostering religious harmony and moral uprightness within the council. In a beautiful display of interfaith and community synergy, Pastor S.A. Farounbi the Head of the Local Government Administration joins as a Host, alongside the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Sanitarian Lawal Sefiu.

    A Call to the Public

The planning committee invites all staff of the local government, residents of Saki, and the wider Muslim Ummah to attend this session. According to Sanitarian Lawal Sefiu, the lecture is designed to provide clarity and spiritual rejuvenation during the “Ten Days of Ransom” (the final third of Ramadan).

“In a world filled with distractions, we want to examine if living strictly by the Holy Book is still a reality or a distant myth,” the committee stated. “This lecture is an opportunity to find our way back to the essence of our faith.”
