Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of retired Major-General Lukman Tokunbo Omoniyi as his Executive Adviser on Security Coordination.

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was contained in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde.
While congratulating Omoniyi on the appointment, Governor Makinde charged him to ensure effective coordination of security activities across the state with the aim of making every part of Oyo State safe and secure for residents.

Major-General Omoniyi (rtd) is a seasoned senior infantry officer who has held several command, staff and instructional appointments in various military formations and units during his service.
He holds a Master of Science degree in Humanitarian and Refugees Studies, as well as another Master of Science degree in Strategic Studies, both from the University of Ibadan. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree in Peace, Security and Humanitarian Studies at the same institution.
