Hon. Chief Dr. Makanjuola Ayoola Joe, the Odofin of Ago-Are Land and a former Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State, has passed away.
His death, which has been confirmed by leaders of the Ago-Are community, marks the end of a long career in public service that spanned local government administration, state governance and traditional leadership. He was also a former Executive Chairman of Atisbo Local Government.
Throughout his years in public office, Ayoola played notable roles in grassroots administration and youth-related policies in Oyo State. His service at the local government level and later as a member of the state executive council earned him recognition across the Oke-Ogun axis and beyond.
Community leaders in Ago-Are described his passing as a significant loss, noting his contributions to governance and community affairs. Political associates and residents of the area have also acknowledged his role in mentoring younger politicians and supporting development initiatives.
The Ago-Are community formally announced his demise with deep regret, stating that Oyo State has lost an experienced political figure whose influence extended beyond his immediate constituency.
Details of burial arrangements are expected to be made public by the family in the coming days, as preparations begin to accord him final honours befitting his status as a traditional ruler and former public office holder.
