The Executive Chairman of Saki East Local Government, Prince Adedokun Emmanuel Olalekan, has expressed deep appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde for approving the construction of the Ogbooro–Agbonle Road, describing the decision as a landmark intervention that will reshape the socio-economic future of the entire axis.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Prince Adedokun said the approval marks one of the most significant infrastructural commitments to the Atisbo–Saki East corridor in recent years, noting that it reflects the governor’s deliberate resolve to open up rural communities and stimulate balanced development across Oyo State.

According to the Chairman, the Ogbooro–Agbonle Road project is more than a construction initiative; it is a lifeline that will enhance access to farmlands, strengthen agricultural value chains, improve security movement, and ease inter-community transportation for thousands of residents within the zone.

“The approval of the Ogbooro–Agbonle Road is a clear affirmation that His Excellency remains sensitive to the realities of rural communities. This single decision will unlock multiple economic benefits for our farmers, traders, youths and elderly citizens. It shows that the governor pays attention, evaluates needs, and responds with strategic action.” he stated.

Prince Adedokun also highlighted that the governor’s ongoing projects and policy commitments across Oke-Ogun – especially in road construction, health, education, and rural electrification – continue to demonstrate an administration driven by equity and inclusive governance.

He added that the Saki East Local Government will give full administrative support to ensure the timely takeoff and seamless execution of the Ogbooro–Agbonle project, including continuous engagement with contractors, ministries, and host communities.

“As a council, we see this approval as a direct answer to long-standing community demands. We stand ready to align with the governor’s developmental vision and ensure that this critical project is delivered to standard,” he said.

The Chairman called on community leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders across Ogbooro, Agbonle, and adjoining settlements to cooperate fully during the construction phase, emphasizing that unity and support will accelerate flawless project delivery.

Prince Adedokun concluded by noting that Governor Makinde’s action reinforces a governance philosophy where development is not theory but consistent, people-centered action.
“With this approval, Oke-Ogun has once again been placed on a progressive path. The future we desire is becoming clearer because we have a governor who understands our needs and responds decisively,” he added.
