The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has intensified its reconciliation efforts, with top leaders and previously divided factions committing to a joint political front ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The renewed commitment to unity emerged at a stakeholders’ and reconciliation meeting held at the party’s state secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, where leaders agreed that aligning all tendencies within the party is crucial for its readiness in the next electoral cycle.

Senator Teslim Folarin, the APC governorship candidate in the 2023 elections, revealed after the meeting that the party has adopted a statewide peace mobilisation plan. According to him, party leaders will embark on a tour across all constituencies to reinforce harmony and deliver a unified message to the grassroots. He stated that the APC is fully positioned to “shut down the state” in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as preparations for 2027 intensify.

Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, also addressed journalists, declaring that the party’s long-standing divisions have been largely resolved. He said peace has returned to the Oyo APC and noted that reconciliation is “90 per cent complete,” with full integration of all members as the next step.

Hon. Remi Oseni, who represents Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, urged members to begin early mobilisation of their supporters, stressing that strong groundwork would be essential for the APC’s success in the 2027 polls.

Earlier, Oyo APC Chairman, Hon. Olayide Abass, applauded Senator Folarin for his role in stabilising the party, describing the reconciliation as a major milestone. He encouraged party leaders to deepen grassroots engagement as part of the party’s broader preparations.

The meeting recorded a large turnout of prominent party stakeholders, including Senator Teslim Folarin, Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu, Senator Ayoade Adeseun, Senator Kola Balogun, Senator Fatai Buhari, and former Minister of Communication Barr. Adebayo Shittu, Senator Hosea Agboola, Hon. Fatai Ibikunle, party executives, and several loyal members.
