President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded the name of Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State to the Senate for confirmation as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the nomination follows the election of Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July. Yilwatda had previously served as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction before his emergence as party chairman.
Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr. Doro brings over two decades of multidisciplinary experience in clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement in both the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA with a focus on IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice.
A licensed Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Dr. Doro has worked extensively with the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK across urgent care, walk-in centres, general practice, and hospital settings.
Beyond his professional achievements, he has been actively involved in youth mentorship and social impact programmes, both in the Nigerian diaspora and within local communities.
The statement noted that his nomination underscores President Tinubu’s continued commitment to competence, professionalism, and inclusivity in governance.
