Over 5,000 Halleluyah Movement Members Dump PDP in Saki West, Align with Senator Agboola(see video)

A major political shift has hit Oyo State’s political landscape as more than 5,000 members of the Halleluyah Reformed Political Movement (HRPM) in Saki West Local Government have resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), pledging total allegiance to their leader, Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola, popularly known as Halleluyah.

The mass defection took place at Abeje Multipurpose Hall, Saki, where loyalists, community leaders, and political stakeholders gathered in solidarity with Senator Agboola, who recently announced his exit from the PDP.

The event, led by former Saki West Local Government Chairman, Engr. Sarafadeen Ahmed Omirinde, was described as a “historic moment of unity and political realignment” for the people of the area.

In his remarks, Omirinde said the coordinated withdrawal of members was a direct show of loyalty to Senator Agboola, whom he praised for his leadership and commitment to principle.

“Our leader has shown us the path of integrity and principle. Wherever Senator Halleluyah goes, we follow with loyalty and conviction,” Omirinde stated.
“We have resolved to cease attending PDP meetings or participating in any of its activities. Our loyalty now lies with our leader and his vision for a redefined political future,” he added.

Also speaking, Hon. Lukman Adisa Adamawa, a former Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde, said the mass exit from the PDP would have far-reaching political consequences both in Oyo State and nationally.

He described Senator Agboola as “a political builder and bridge-maker” who has played a vital role in mentoring young leaders, empowering communities, and strengthening political structures across Nigeria.

“This movement is not just about one man leaving a party,” Adamawa declared. “It is about thousands of genuine followers and builders realigning for purpose and future direction.”

In the same vein, Alhaji Yisau Awokesoro, a key member of the Halleluyah Reformed Political Movement, commended members for their steadfastness and unity during the transition.

According to him, the mass resignation symbolized the beginning of “a new chapter in Oyo politics,” warning that the PDP might begin to feel the effect of losing its most loyal grassroots base.

“This marks the beginning of the PDP’s political decline in Oyo State and beyond,” Awokesoro asserted. “We are united under one vision — to follow our leader and continue to promote service, loyalty, and progress.”

Also, Alhaji Abdulraheem Oyedemi Muslim, a former Local Government Chairman and former Commissioner for Works in Oyo State, spoke on the reasons behind their collective exit from the PDP.

According to him, the group’s decision was driven by years of internal dissatisfaction, lack of fairness, and disregard for loyal party members.

“We could no longer remain in a party where loyalty is taken for granted and contributions are not appreciated,” Oyedemi stated. “Our exit is a statement of conscience — to align with a leader who stands for integrity, inclusiveness, and the genuine progress of our people.”

He added that the next political movement of the group to a new party will unfold as directed by their principal, Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola (Halleluyah), noting that all members are ready to move in one accord whenever the directive comes.

Some of the notable political leaders and stakeholders present at the gathering included respected elders, youth leaders, and women mobilizers across the local government, demonstrating the wide reach and influence of the movement in Saki West.

The long list of attendees featured prominent figures such as Alh. Mudasiru Awujola, Alh. Ishau Awokesoro, Alh. Makanjuola Jibril, Alh. Yekeen Owoade, Alh. Sikiru Toogun, Alh. Rasak Yusuf Farase, Hon. Biyi Abiola, Alh. Ganiyu Okearan, Mr. Badrudeen Ajagbe, Alh. Ishau Olomi, Adebayo Prince (JP), Hon. Isaiaka Ikuogbogun, Hon. Biodun Okanlawon, Baba Alimi Olayiwola, Baba Dauda Nurudeen, Alh. Mukaila Lobalowo, Baba Adesope, Alh. Mukaila Biegba, Mr. Sodiq Ologe, Baba Lonloo, Baba Atunse Dauda Oke Esho, Serifatu Oloye, Alh. Ogooluwa, Hon. Soliu Adelabu, Alhaja Taiwo Damilola, Hon. Olowokere Tawa, Hon. Rafiu Adebowo, Alh. Sulaiman Doctor, Engr. Lasisi Wahab, and Alh. Tijani Moshood, among others.

The Abeje Hall was filled to capacity as chants of “Halleluyah ni jo, Halleluyah ni jare!” echoed throughout the venue — a clear show of unity, discipline, and loyalty among supporters.

Political observers believe the massive resignation and alignment with Senator Agboola mark the beginning of a major realignment in Oyo State’s political equation, with the Halleluyah Reformed Political Movement now poised to play a defining role in the state’s next political chapter.
