A former Deputy Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Agboola Hosea Ayoola, popularly known as “Halleluyah,” has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State.

Agboola, who hails from Itesiwaju Local Government Area, officially tendered his resignation on Friday, October 10, 2025, marking the end of his long-standing association with the party.
In his resignation statement, the former lawmaker expressed appreciation to the PDP for the platform and opportunities it provided him to serve in various leadership capacities at both the state and national levels.
“I, Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party and a leader both at the state and national level, appreciate the party for the opportunities afforded me to serve the party as a member and leader, as well as the achievements made therein,” he stated.
Agboola, however, explained that his decision to exit the party was informed by future political considerations. He noted that his absence from the recent local and state congresses of the party was deliberate, citing it as part of his plans ahead of his next political move.

“However, you will observe that I did not participate in all the congresses held recently — that is, the local and state congresses — due to future political pursuits which are necessary at this material time,” he said.
He concluded his statement by formally announcing his resignation from the PDP, effective October 10, 2025, while wishing the party success in its future endeavours.
“Consequently, I hereby resign my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party effective from 10 October 2025, as I wish the party success in its activities,” he added.
