President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, following allegations levelled against him.

Nnaji, who was appointed in August 2023, tendered his resignation in a letter on Monday, expressing gratitude to the President for the opportunity to serve the nation.
In his letter, the former minister said he had become a target of blackmail by political opponents, a situation which prompted his decision to step down.

President Tinubu, in his response, thanked Nnaji for his service and wished him success in his future endeavours.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
