Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has approved a fresh round of appointments into key positions in the state’s public service, including the dissolution of the board of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) and the naming of new officials in strategic roles.

As part of the changes, Honourable Taiwo Lekan Salami has been appointed as the new Chairman of 3SC, following the dissolution of the club’s existing board. The move is seen as part of the governor’s efforts to reposition the club for better performance and professionalism.
In another major shake-up, Governor Makinde appointed Honourable Adeyinka Kazim Adeniyi, popularly known as Bibire, as the new Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS). This follows the resignation of Honourable Fola Sunday Oyekunle, who recently emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election slated for August 16, 2025.
Additionally, the governor approved the appointment of Honourable Kabiru Salami, a retired police officer, as Executive Assistant to the Governor on Security Coordination. Also appointed was Honourable Waheed Adeniyi as the new Chairman of the Oyo State Waste Management Authority.
The appointments were contained in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi.
Governor Makinde congratulated the new appointees and charged them to see their new roles as a call to dedicated service. He urged them to contribute meaningfully to the ongoing efforts to improve governance, ensure security, promote sports development, and enhance sanitation across the state.
The appointments take immediate effect.
