    Oyo Govt Partners Global Sight to Empower MSMEs On Leadership, Digital Skills Training

    Oyo State Government has Partnered Global Sight to Empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on Leadership, Digital Skills Training.

    The Commissioner for Investment, Trade, Cooperatives and Industry, Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi while speaking on Friday at the Leadership Training for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Association Leaders, held at the Local Government Training School, Secretariat, Ibadan, said the training is
    aimed at enhancing productivity, competitiveness, and sustainable growth.

    Speaking on the theme of the training “Strengthening Communication and Digital Collaboration for MSMES Growth”,Adebisi described the initiative as timely and crucial for grassroots economic empowerment.

    He emphasized the importance of the leaders going back to their communities to educate others on what they have been taught, ensuring the multiplier effect reaches the grassroots.

    In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Olajide Okesade, highlighted the need for continuous education and exposure for association leaders, stressing the importance of bridging the communication and digital gaps between the informal and formal sectors.

    In his contribution, a development expert as well as the facilitator of the training, Dr. Chris Udofia,, said, “When MSMEs communicate effectively and leverage digital tools, they increase productivity, access wider markets, and reduce operational expenses.
    Also speaking, a consultant from Global Sight Services Limited,
    Mr. Dayo Bello sensitized participants on the upcoming Nigerian Artisan and Technicians Conference (OYO NATCO, 2025) and encouraged participants to take advantage of the opportunities it will provide.

    Several goodwill messages were received from different partner agencies, including FCCPC; NIPC; ITF; SMEDAN;Airtel Nigeria on how to enhance communication skills among MSMEs.

    Babaloja General of Oyo State, Alhaji Yekeen Abass, applauded the government’s support for market stakeholders, urging leaders to embrace digital tools, saying, “This is a new era for our members. We must move from analog to digital if we want to compete and succeed in this changing world.”

    Participants expressed their appreciation for the impactful training, calling for more initiatives tailored to the realities of the informal sector.
