The Executive Chairman of Saki West Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Olaleye Akinola, has congratulated Muslims in Saki West and across Oyo State on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Adha, urging them to uphold the values of love, peace, and sacrifice that define the celebration.
In his Sallah message, Hon. Akinola specially felicitated with His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Surv. Khalid Olabisi Oyedepo III Ilugbemidepo, the Okere of Sakiland, the Chief Imam of Sakiland, Sheikh Abdul Azeez Jeje Kunmi Arebomasojo, other Islamic clerics, and the entire Muslim Ummah for witnessing another Eid in good health and renewed devotion.

“Eid-el-Adha reminds us of Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering faith and obedience. It calls us to practice selflessness, show kindness, and promote peace among ourselves. I warmly greet our Royal Father, Kabiyesi Okere of Sakiland, our spiritual leader, the Chief Imam, and all Muslim brothers and sisters. May Allah accept our prayers and sacrifices,” the chairman said.
Hon. Akinola urged residents to continue to live in harmony and support one another, especially in these challenging times, stressing that peace and unity are essential for progress in the local government and the state at large.
He also used the opportunity to call for greater support for the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, describing the governor as a leader with genuine passion for the people’s welfare and the development of all zones, including Oke Ogun.
“Governor Makinde has shown consistent commitment to inclusive governance. From road construction to education, rural electrification to health care, his footprints are visible across our region. I urge all our people to continue supporting his government for even greater achievements,” Akinola stated.
The chairman commended religious and traditional leaders for fostering peace and stability, and expressed gratitude to security agencies and community leaders for their vigilance during the festive period.
He reaffirmed the readiness of the Saki West Local Government to partner with faith-based and community organisations in extending support to vulnerable groups during Eid and beyond.
“Let this festival inspire us to care more for one another. Let us give, forgive, and grow in love and unity. May this Eid-el-Adha bring lasting joy to every household and divine blessings to Saki West, Oyo State, and Nigeria,” he concluded.
