    Taofik Balaro Brings Decades of Procurement Experience to Emmanuel Alayande University of Education

    Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, has announced the appointment of seasoned procurement expert, Mr. Taofik Ajibola Balaro, as its new Director of Procurement. His appointment, effective from April 1, 2025, was approved by the institution’s Governing Council and conveyed through a statement by the Registrar and Secretary to the Council, Mrs. Olubunmi Siju’ Asunmo.

    The announcement, also released by the University’s Media and Public Relations Officer, Wale Adeoye, highlights Mr. Balaro’s extensive background in procurement management. A native of Oja-‘ba in Ibadan, Balaro was born on August 26, 1969, and holds multiple qualifications in the field, including an OND and HND in Purchasing and Supply from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, and a B.Sc in the same discipline from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye.

    He further strengthened his academic credentials with an MBA in Marketing from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, in 2012, and is currently pursuing an M.Sc in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from the same institution.

    Balaro’s professional journey includes significant roles such as Chief Procurement Officer and Assistant Chief Procurement Officer at Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa, and earlier, Store Officer at The Polytechnic Ibadan, Adeseun Ogundoyin Campus, Eruwa. He is also an Associate Member of both the Nigeria Institute of Management (AMNIM) and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria (CIPSMN), and has attended numerous seminars and conferences to stay current in his field.

    The Registrar, speaking on behalf of the Governing Council Chairman, Professor Ayoade Olayiwola Ogunkunle, congratulated Mr. Balaro and encouraged him to live up to the expectations of the university community. She also wished him a successful and impactful tenure.

    Mr. Balaro is married and a proud father of accomplished children.
