The National Union of Saki Students (NUSS), Sa’adu Zungur University, Bauchi (Sazu Chapter), has honored Hon. Gbenga Olaleye Akinola with a Merit Award of Excellence. The award was given in recognition of his exemplary services, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the association and the welfare of the people of Saki West Local Government Area.
The presentation took place during a ceremony held at the Saki West Local Government Secretariat. The event featured the distribution of exercise books to public primary school pupils and motorcycles to security operatives, reflecting Akinola’s dedication to improving education and enhancing security in the region.
Speaking at the event, the President of the Sazu chapter of NUSS, Comrade Shittu Samad Akanbi, presented the award to Hon. Akinola, commending his outstanding contributions to the development of Saki West Local Government.
In his response, Hon. Akinola expressed gratitude to the union for the recognition. He reaffirmed his commitment to bringing the dividends of democracy closer to the people and assured the audience of his continued efforts to improve their well-being.
“I dedicate this award to the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, whose exemplary leadership has inspired and enabled me to serve the people better,” he stated.
