Today, as Chief Michael Adeniyi Koleosho is laid to rest in his hometown of Sakí, we at Reality News Today join the nation in reflecting on the immense contributions of a remarkable statesman, politician, and community leader. Chief Koleosho’s passing on September 2nd, 2024, at the age of 86, marked the end of an era, but his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were touched by his service and humanity.

Chief Koleosho’s journey in politics began at the grassroots level, where he first served as a councilor. From there, he ascended to the state legislature as a member of the State Assembly and later took on the role of Commissioner, ultimately rising to the prestigious position of Secretary to the State Government. His leadership was not confined to the state alone—on the national stage, he served as the National Chairman of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), a party that played a crucial role in Nigeria’s political evolution during a challenging period.

The significance of his contributions was recognized at the highest levels of leadership. President Bola Tinubu described him as an icon, a tribute that reflects Chief Koleosho’s profound impact on the nation’s political landscape. Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, FNSE, paid homage to him as an elder statesman and ensured he received a state burial—a fitting honor for a man who dedicated so much to his community and country.

Beyond his political endeavors, Chief Koleosho was a businessman and a philanthropist. His commitment to improving the lives of those around him was evident in his numerous community development projects and acts of service, often carried out quietly and with genuine care for the welfare of others. His humility and dedication to service remain a beacon of inspiration to all.

As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived. His legacy is not just in the positions he held but in the values he upheld—service, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the betterment of society. These are the qualities that made him not just a leader, but a true statesman.

In honoring his memory, we at Reality News Today admonish our leaders, especially those in politics, to follow in his footsteps. The greatest tribute to Chief Koleosho’s legacy would be for today’s politicians to recognize the importance of giving back to the communities they serve, as he did throughout his life. His dedication to his people should inspire current and future generations to prioritize humanity and community service over personal gain.

As Chief Michael Adeniyi Koleosho is laid to rest, we celebrate his contributions and honor a life dedicated to public service. May his memory continue to guide and inspire us all.
