The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the Saki-West Local Government Area successfully conducted a seamless handover ceremony held recently. The event marked the formal transfer of responsibilities from the outgoing End Well Committee to the newly appointed members, witnessed by NULGE executives, End Well Committee members, and other union members.

During the ceremony, NULGE Chairman Comrade Ajuwon Ibrahim expressed heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing End Well Committee, led by Chairman Alhaji Adegboye Yekeen, for their outstanding work and contributions. He commended their diligent service and wished them success in their future endeavors. In his remarks to the new committee, Comrade Ibrahim urged them to view their appointment as a call to service, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the funds and maintaining accurate records. “You are the custodians of this fund, which represents the hard-earned money of us all. Protect it and ensure accountability,” he said.

Alhaji Adegboye, the outgoing chairman, reflected on his committee’s achievements and thanked the NULGE Executive and members for their continuous support. He reiterated their dedication to advancing the goals of NULGE and wished the new committee success in their duties.

The formal handover of documents and responsibilities was followed by pledges of support from the NULGE Executive to the incoming committee. Key figures in attendance, including Sanitarian M.A. Shittu, Director of Environment and Health Services, and Comrade Aderogba Dauda, Head of the Information Unit, praised the peaceful transition. They highlighted the importance of maintaining harmony to further the objectives of the End Well program and commended the outgoing committee for setting a strong foundation. Both officials encouraged the new committee to build upon these successes and strive to surpass the achievements of their predecessors.

Representing the new committee, Treasurer Mr. Femi Adeola, speaking on behalf of the new Chairman, Mr. Rufai Luqman, expressed gratitude to the NULGE Executive for the opportunity to serve. He assured the union that the new committee would work diligently to meet expectations and continue the legacy of strong financial management and service to the union. “We will not let the union down,” Mr. Adeola affirmed.

Assistant Secretary of the Union, Comrade Isaac Adewale, closed the ceremony by thanking everyone for their attendance and support. He used the opportunity to encourage more members to join the End Well scheme, emphasizing its long-term benefits, especially after retirement.

The new End Well Committee members are Mr. Rufai Luqman (Chairman), Mr.Olufemi Adeola (Treasurer/Financial Secretary), Mr. Afeez Raheem (member), Mrs. Ayandokun Muibat (member), Mrs. Oguntona Esther (member) and three nominees from NULGE executives.
