Saki, Oyo State, has a new reason to celebrate as its daughter, Kasali Rihanat Alake, continues to make waves in African football. Born and raised in Saki, Alake has played a pivotal role in Edo Queens’ impressive run in the CAF Women’s Champions League (CAF WCL) Qualifiers.

In a thrilling semi-final match, Edo Queens emerged victorious with a hard-fought 2-1 win against the host club, Inter D’Abidjan. This victory has earned Edo Queens a spot in the final, where they will face Aïnonvi FC. The final match holds significant stakes, as both teams vie not only for the prestigious WAFU B trophy but also for the chance to make history by qualifying for the CAF Women’s Champions League—an accomplishment that would be a first for both clubs.

Alake’s performance has been crucial to Edo Queens’ success, and as she prepares to step onto the field for the final, she carries with her the hopes and pride of the entire Saki community. Her journey has been a source of inspiration, and the town stands united in support, eagerly anticipating her continued success on this grand stage.

As the final approaches, the people of Saki remain steadfast in their encouragement, celebrating Alake’s achievements and wishing her the best in this monumental match.
