The Comptroller General of Customs (CGC) of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, has approved the appointments and redeployments of six key management officials within the Service. The reshuffle aims to enhance strategic service delivery and further NCS’s core mandates.

These changes were prompted by the statutory retirement of several management team members, resulting in new acting appointments and redeployments. The details were disclosed in a press release issued on Friday by Chief Superintendent of Customs Abdullahi Maiwada, the National Public Relations Officer (NPRO).

The newly appointed and redeployed officials include:

    • B. M. Jibo: Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) of Finance Administration and Technical Services (FATS)
    • O. A. Alajogun: Acting Deputy Comptroller General (Ag. DCG) of Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation (EI&I)
    • I. G. Umar: Acting Assistant Comptroller General (Ag. ACG) of Headquarters
    • O. A. Salefu: Acting Assistant Comptroller General (Ag. ACG) of Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC)
    • B. A. Makinde: Acting Assistant Comptroller General (Ag. ACG) of Human Resource Development (HRD)
    • T. Bomodi: Acting Assistant Comptroller General (Ag. ACG) of Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation (EI&I)

The CGC emphasized that these appointments reflect the officers’ exemplary dedication and service within the NCS. He reiterated the Service’s commitment to providing strategic leadership aimed at boosting efficiency and overall performance.

While expressing gratitude to the retired management team members for their years of meritorious service, CGC Adeniyi congratulated the newly appointed officials. He encouraged them to intensify their efforts to ensure the Service excels in its core mandates, including revenue generation, suppression of smuggling, and trade facilitation.
