Atiku Warns Against Attempts to Impede Progress of Dangote Refinery

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has voiced strong opposition to any attempts that might hinder the progress of the Dangote Refinery, a crucial infrastructure project in Nigeria. In a statement shared through his media office, Atiku emphasized the importance of the refinery to the nation’s economic development and warned against any actions that could disrupt its operations or completion.

Atiku underscored the refinery’s potential to transform Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, reduce dependency on imported petroleum products, and create numerous jobs for Nigerians. He argued that the success of the Dangote Refinery is vital for achieving energy security and economic growth in the country.

The former Vice President’s remarks come amid concerns over reported efforts by certain individuals or groups to create obstacles for the refinery project. Atiku urged the government and all stakeholders to ensure a conducive environment for the refinery’s successful operation, stressing that such a strategic asset should be supported rather than hindered.

Atiku Abubakar’s warning reflects broader sentiments within Nigeria, where the Dangote Refinery is seen as a game-changer for the nation’s energy sector. The refinery, once completed, is expected to be one of the largest in the world, with the capacity to process 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

The statement from the former Vice President highlights the critical role that private sector initiatives like the Dangote Refinery play in driving Nigeria’s economic development, and the need for collective efforts to ensure their success.
