In a touching tribute to the late Engr. Fatai Olalekan Tijani, the Saki Muslim Community has provided support to over 200 less privileged individuals, including widows and the elderly, during a special event held at the School of Basic Midwifery Hall, Muslim Medical Foundation in Saki. This initiative, aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by many in Nigeria, included financial assistance and was solely sponsored by Alhaja Adeleke Tijani Jayeola, the widow of the late Engr. Tijani, who passed away on August 7, 2023. May his soul continue to rest in perfect peace (Aljanat Firdaus)

The program’s highlight was the distribution of ₦5000 each to 200 vulnerable persons, including widows, orphans, the needy, the aged, and selected Ulamaah. The generous contributions were made in memory of Engr. Tijani, and the community prayed for abundant rewards for the sponsors and beneficiaries.

The event, organized by the Saki Muslim Community, featured significant contributions made in memory of Engr. Tijani. Alhaji Sulaiman Lawal Oroyinyin, Chairman of the Saki Muslim Community and Retired Commissioner of Police, expressed profound gratitude to the sponsors and organizers for their impactful efforts.

“It’s an honor to be part of this significant event, especially at a time when many are struggling with various challenges and finding solace only in Allah,” remarked Alhaji Oroyinyin. He commended Alhaja Adeleke Tijani Jayeola for her benevolence and prayed for divine blessings for her and the late Engr. Tijani.

The event featured a lecture by Ustaz AbdGafar Adekunle, who underscored the importance of prayers and charitable deeds in memory of the deceased, drawing references from the Qur’an and Hadith. He stressed the virtue of selfless giving and encouraged ongoing support for the Muslim community to achieve greater milestones.

The gathering included special prayers from numerous scholars, Islamic clergy, and community stakeholders. Representing Alhaja Adeleke Tijani Jayeola, Alhaji Hassan Oke Adeleke expressed gratitude to the community for their dedication. He urged those with means to assist the less fortunate during these trying times and encouraged the beneficiaries to use the aid wisely.

In heartfelt acknowledgments, Imam AbdRofiu Owonikoko (representing the less privileged), Balogun Zainab Hummu Ukasah (representing widows), and Alfa Tijani Kareem (representing the handicapped) thanked the organizers and facilitators for their invaluable support, praying for abundant rewards from Allah.

The event was well attended by members of the Saki Muslim Community Executive, the Tijani and Adeleke families, and representatives of the Saki Chief Imam, underscoring the community’s unity and commitment to honoring the legacy of Engr. Fatai Tijani through acts of compassion and support.
