It begins with a road—cutting through ancient farmlands toward a future not yet fully imagined. Asphalt, warm under the Ibadan sun, winds past markets, valleys, and memories, until it touches the gates of a half-built industrial park near Ipapo in Itesiwaju Local Government of Oyo State. Trucks idle. Transformers hum beside solar panels auto-tilting North-westward. Somewhere behind them, the water murmurs low from the Ikere Gorge Dam. You could mistake the silence for inactivity. But to the trained eye, it’s the pregnant hush before emergence. This white silent-noise is conclusive evidence that something is now happening – definitely. For too…

Olasoji Fagbola Across the world, there’s increasing pressure on the oil and gas industry to explain how the global shift to cleaner energy will affect their operations and long-term strategies. This is happening at a time when investment in the sector is slowing down not because it’s underperforming, but because governments, financial institutions, and even shareholders are pushing for stronger climate action and decarbonisation. Given this shift, there’s a strong case for introducing a climate compatibility checkpoint into Nigeria’s Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), making it a key part of the licensing process for oil and gas companies. This checkpoint would…
Our attention has been drawn to a press statement purportedly released on Sunday, 7th July, 2025 by Prince Seun Adelore, erstwhile Chairman of PDP in Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State purportedly announcing his resignation as a member of our great party. While acknowledging Adelore’s right to the freedom of association and indeed expression as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Forum however wishes to condemn in the strongest terms, his portrayal of the leadership style of His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde in clearly unflattering terms. To those who might be tempted to swallow his bait…
