Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has appointed Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, as his new Chief of Staff following the resignation of his predecessor, Segun Ogunwuyi.

The governor also approved the appointment of Mrs. Aderonke Adedayo as the Director-General of the Oyo State Due Process Office, in a series of appointments announced on Monday, October 12, 2026.
The appointments were conveyed through letters signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde.
Akinwole, a grassroots politician with experience in local government administration, previously served as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission before his latest appointment.
His emergence as Chief of Staff follows Ogunwuyi’s resignation from the position, marking a change in the leadership of the governor’s immediate administrative team.
Meanwhile, Adedayo, who currently serves as Special Adviser on General Intervention and Donor Agencies, has been assigned additional responsibilities as Director-General of the Due Process Office.
She is expected to combine her existing duties as Special Adviser with her new role, according to the announcement.

The appointments form part of the latest administrative changes within the Makinde-led government, with Akinwole taking over the Chief of Staff position and Adedayo assuming leadership of the Due Process Office alongside her existing responsibilities.
