The National Chairman and presidential candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Aare Adekunle Rufai Omo-Aje, has assured the party’s governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly candidates whose names were omitted from the final list published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that efforts are underway to address the situation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Omo-Aje gave the assurance at a town hall meeting in Kaduna, where he described the omission of some of the party’s candidates as a possible technical error and disclosed that the party had begun moves to secure a review of the published list and the restoration of the affected names.
He said the party’s legal team was preparing a formal complaint to INEC to draw the commission’s attention to the omissions and seek prompt corrective action.
Among the governorship candidates identified as affected are Comrade Sikiru Bayo Titilola-Sodo of Oyo State, Barrister Eke Benjamin Israel of Rivers State, Abdullah-Bukharin of Nasarawa State and Zubairu Musa of Bauchi State.
The AA national chairman explained that the issue extended beyond governorship candidates, noting that several party members seeking election into the National Assembly and various State Houses of Assembly were also reportedly missing from the commission’s published list.
He assured the affected candidates and party supporters that the party leadership was actively following up on the matter and would explore all available administrative and legal channels to ensure that the situation was resolved.
According to Omo-Aje, the Action Alliance had complied with the requirements and deadlines stipulated by INEC, expressing confidence that a review of the commission’s records would help clarify the situation and lead to the restoration of the omitted candidates.
He appealed to party members, particularly those in the affected states, to remain calm and law-abiding while the leadership continues its efforts to resolve the matter.
Omo-Aje also commended the INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, for what he described as transparent and committed leadership, expressing confidence in the commission’s capacity to address the concerns raised by the party.

He reiterated the Action Alliance’s commitment to the rule of law, due process and credible elections, stressing that the party would continue to pursue the matter through lawful means.
The AA presidential candidate further urged INEC to strengthen its verification procedures before publishing final lists of candidates to minimise the possibility of errors, reduce unnecessary anxiety among political parties and candidates, and prevent avoidable litigation ahead of the elections.
Despite the development, Omo-Aje maintained that the party would continue its campaigns while working to protect the interests and electoral mandates of all its duly nominated candidates.
The party’s leadership is expected to continue engaging the electoral commission as it seeks clarification and a resolution of the omissions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
