The senatorial ambition of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for Oyo North Senatorial District, Hon. Shina Peller, has received a royal endorsement from the Iba of Kishi and paramount ruler of Kishi land, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Moshood Oyekola Aweda Lawal, Arowoduye II.
The endorsement was given on Friday when Peller led a high-profile delegation to the monarch’s palace in Irepo Local Government Area of Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The APM standard-bearer was accompanied by prominent party executives, loyalists and his mother, Alhaja Silifat Abeo Abiola Peller, popularly known as Lady Peller.
The visit also had significant historical and familial importance, as Lady Peller is a prominent daughter of Kishi. She was born to the late Alhaji Soliu Ali, widely revered as Kiniun Adini, who served as one of the distinguished Chief Imams of Kishi Land.
The Iba of Kishi warmly welcomed Peller as a son of the soil and offered royal prayers and blessings for his victory in the forthcoming election.
Addressing the royal court, Peller outlined his vision for the senatorial district and explained why he believes his background and experience qualify him to seek its representation.
He highlighted his connections across the three major geographical blocs of Oyo North, noting that his father hails from Oke-Ogun I, while his mother is a native of Oke-Ogun II, specifically Kishi.
He added that his academic foundation was built in the Ogbomoso axis, where he obtained both his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
Peller said these family and educational connections have given him strong ties across the various parts of Oyo North.

Beyond his geographical connections, he emphasised the importance of legislative experience in representing the diverse interests of the district’s 13 local government areas.
According to him, his legislative experience places him in a position to understand the workings of the National Assembly and commence effective representation from the outset if elected.
Peller maintained that his experience would enable him to provide effective representation and pursue what he described as desirable democratic dividends for the people of Oyo North at the 11th National Assembly.
Peller previously represented the Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives between 2019 and 2023.
The visit to the Iba of Kishi is part of Peller’s engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections, as political activities continue to intensify across Oyo North Senatorial District.
The royal engagement also underscored Peller’s maternal ties to Kishi, as well as his broader family, educational, and legislative connections across the senatorial district.
