The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saki West Local Government has reaffirmed its support for Mrs. Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan, MFR, as the party’s candidate for the Oyo North Senatorial District, while also endorsing other APC candidates for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made during a well-attended meeting of the Saki West APC held under the chairmanship of Alhaji Tajudeen Okunlola at LA Primary School, Isale Taba, Saki. The gathering attracted thousands of party members, leaders and stakeholders from across the local government, who reiterated that the supremacy of the party must be respected by all members.
The meeting also declared support for Hon. Kareem Abisodun Tajudeen as the APC candidate for the Atisbo/Saki East/Saki West Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat and Hon. Shittu Ibraheem as the party’s candidate for the State House of Assembly.
At the end of the meeting, party leaders unanimously adopted a series of resolutions reaffirming Mrs. Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan, MFR, as the duly elected and recognised APC candidate for Oyo North Senatorial District.
The party rejected what it described as malicious publications, false narratives and sponsored opinions aimed at undermining Ogunesan’s emergence through the party’s democratic process.
According to the resolutions, such publications do not represent the collective position of APC members, delegates, stakeholders or party faithful across Oyo North Senatorial District.
The meeting further resolved to defend the integrity of the APC’s internal electoral process and uphold the party’s final decision recognising Mrs. Ogunesan as its candidate for the senatorial district.
It also condemned attempts by individuals or groups to announce what it described as fake election results, discredit the party’s internal process or create unnecessary division within the APC.
The stakeholders called on all aspirants, their supporters and party members to respect the party’s decision, embrace reconciliation and work together in unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting equally reaffirmed Mrs. Ogunesan’s commitment to reconciliation, grassroots mobilisation, party unity and purposeful representation for the people of Oyo North Senatorial District.
Several stakeholders who addressed the gathering threw their weight behind the resolutions adopted by the party. They included Engr. Sarafadeen Omirinde, Alhaji Kareem Olomi, Dr. Ismail Adewoyin, Mr. Adeniyi Sunday, and Madam Hamsat, all of whom urged party members to remain united and committed to strengthening the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
