The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has formally solidified its legislative lineup ahead of the 2027 general elections, as all 17 of its National Assembly candidates officially received their Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination forms.
The development signals the end of internal party selections and transitions the opposition party in the state into a full-scale, unified campaign mode. The 17 standard-bearers are tasked with flying the party’s flag across Oyo State’s 3 senatorial districts and 14 House of Representatives constituencies.
Leading the charge for the APC are three high-profile candidates positioned to anchor the party’s campaigns across the state’s distinct political zones:
- Senator Yunus Akintunde (Oyo Central)
- Hon. Akeem Ademola “Remi” Oseni (Oyo South)
- Mrs. Hannah Ogunesan (Oyo North)
The official presentation of the nomination forms comes on the heels of high-level strategic alignment within the party, including a recent solidarity visit where the candidates, accompanied by state APC Chairman Chief Moses Alake and other party chieftains, were received by President Bola Tinubu.
With the statutory INEC nomination forms now securely in the hands of the candidates, the Oyo APC is launching an integrated campaign structure across the state’s 33 Local Government Areas (LGAs).
Party stakeholders have urged the candidates to immediately leverage their grassroots networks. Securing a sweeping majority in both chambers of the National Assembly is a central pillar of the APC’s regional strategy as they prepare to square off against a formidable ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structure in Oyo State.
