Oyo Government Pulls Down Building Used by Kidnappers to Hold Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons

The Oyo State Government has demolished a three-bedroom bungalow in Lako Community along the Aiyegun-Anaye Road area of Ibadan, allegedly used as a hideout by kidnappers who abducted the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu, and her two children.
The demolition was carried out on Monday by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, with operatives of the Nigeria Police Force providing security and participating in the exercise.
The action formed part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities across Oyo State.
The demolished building, located in the Lako Community, had allegedly served as a detention centre where the victims were held after their abduction.
The victims, Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were abducted on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Elewura in the Challenge area of Ibadan.
According to the state government, the demolition underscores its determination to tackle insecurity and dismantle criminal networks operating within the state.
The government maintained that it remains committed to confronting criminal elements and ensuring the safety of lives and property across Oyo State.
