The Oyo State Local Government Service Commission has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Alhaji Jimoh Fatai Taiwo, popularly known as JFT, who passed away on Thursday night in a ghastly motorcycle accident.
Alhaji Taiwo, aged 43, was a dedicated Land Officer with the Commission and served at Wẹ́wẹ́ LCDA in Saki West Local Government Area of Oyo State. His untimely death has left colleagues, friends and the entire Saki community in deep shock and sorrow.
Widely described as a philanthropist who touched many lives, JFT was known for his generosity and uncommon kindness. Many who spoke about him said he was kind to a fault, always willing to extend a helping hand to the needy without seeking recognition or reward.
Sympathisers thronged his family residence in Saki shortly after news of his passing broke, offering prayers and words of comfort to the bereaved family. Amid tears and grief, mourners recounted his good deeds, humility and unwavering commitment to supporting others in times of need.
He was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites shortly after his demise.
Delivering a sermon at the burial, Professor Luqman Alawiye paid glowing tribute to the deceased, describing him as an upright and humble individual who consistently gave to the less privileged. He noted that JFT’s life was a testament to selflessness and service to humanity.
Prof. Alawiye reminded the gathering that death is inevitable and urged everyone to always strive to do good, emphasising the importance of preparing for the hereafter through righteous deeds.
Alhaji Jimoh Fatai Taiwo is survived by his wives and children, who have been left to bear the painful loss of a loving husband and devoted father.
His passing has created a void in the local government service and in the hearts of many who benefited from his generosity. He is remembered not only as a public servant but as a compassionate soul whose legacy of kindness will endure.
