Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has approved a salary upgrade for Heads of Local Government Administration (HLGAs) in the state and directed the immediate promotion of all state workers due for advancement in 2025.

The governor disclosed that the Heads of Local Government Administration had not benefited from the reviewed salary structure since January last year, assuring that the backlog would be fully cleared before the end of the month.
Makinde made this known during the annual interfaith prayer session held at the car park of his office at the Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan. He explained that all necessary documents required to implement the improved salary structure for the local government heads would be signed into law before the end of the month, enabling them to begin enjoying the benefits without further delay.

In the same vein, the governor announced that all state workers due for promotion in the year 2025 would be promoted with immediate effect. He added that he would sign their promotion letters the same day to ensure prompt implementation.

The approvals form part of the governor’s broader efforts to improve workers’ welfare and strengthen administrative efficiency across the state, while also reinforcing government’s commitment to responsive governance in Oyo State.
