The Chairman of Saki West Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Olaleye Akinola, has commended Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, as he marks his 58th birthday, describing his leadership as people-focused and a blessing to the state.
Hon. Akinola noted that the coincidence of Governor Makinde’s birthday with the annual celebration of Christmas is symbolic, reflecting a life and leadership anchored on service, sacrifice and compassion for humanity.
He stated that since assuming office over the past seven years, Governor Makinde has recorded notable achievements across key sectors, including road construction, healthcare, education, security, agribusiness, citizens’ welfare and overall infrastructural development.
According to the Saki West Council Chairman, communities in Oke-Ogun, particularly Saki West Local Government Area, have benefited significantly from the governor’s developmental initiatives, which he said have strengthened grassroots governance and improved the living conditions of residents.
Hon. Akinola praised Governor Makinde’s inclusive leadership style and commitment to equitable development, adding that Oyo State has continued to witness steady progress under his administration.
While wishing the governor a happy 58th birthday and many more years of impactful service, the Saki West Chairman also extended warm Christmas greetings to Christians in Saki West, Oyo State and across Nigeria.
He urged Christian faithful to uphold the virtues of love, peace, unity and sacrifice exemplified by Jesus Christ, and called on Nigerians to continue praying for divine intervention to address the nation’s security and economic challenges, expressing optimism that the country will rise stronger with responsible leadership and collective effort.
