Governor Seyi Makinde has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare with the approval of a 13th-month salary for all Oyo State employees, marking the sixth consecutive year the state will enjoy the gesture.
The governor announced the approval on Monday during the inauguration of the newly constituted Governing Board of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, held at the Executive Chamber, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
In addition to the 13th-month salary, Makinde approved the payment of minimum-wage arrears and other outstanding entitlements owed to staff of the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital.
He noted that his administration remains committed to a full revitalization of LAUTECH’s health facilities. Makinde stated that the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital complex in Oyo would be fully revamped and operational within the next 12 months.
The governor urged the board members to justify their appointments through dedicated and effective service delivery, assuring that the concerns raised by LAUTECH lecturers over a proposed strike would be given prompt attention.
