The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has received yet another judicial boost as the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan on Monday, November 10, 2025, reaffirmed its earlier order permitting the party to proceed with its National Convention slated for Saturday, November 15, and Sunday, November 16, 2025.
Presided over by Justice A. L. Akintola, the court sustained its previous directive mandating the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to attend, monitor, and observe the elective convention as scheduled, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.
The court also upheld its order directing the PDP National Working Committee (NWC), National Executive Committee (NEC), and the National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) to go ahead with all necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the convention as earlier planned.
With Monday’s ruling, all attempts to halt the exercise have been effectively laid to rest, clearing the path for the party to elect new national officers who will steer its affairs for the next four years.
The decision has sparked widespread excitement among PDP members and state chapters nationwide, many of whom had been anticipating a definitive legal pronouncement ahead of the convention.
