The Oyo State Government has reiterated its commitment to working closely with the Federal Government to enhance civil service delivery across the country.
The State Head of Service, Mrs Olubunmi Oni, mni, gave the assurance during the 2025 National Council on Establishments (NCE) referral fieldwork visit to the Secretariat, Ibadan, by representatives of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
Mrs Oni highlighted Oyo State’s pioneering role in shaping the modern civil service, stressing that the state has recorded several “firsts” in infrastructural development in Nigeria.
Addressing the delegation, she said, “Your presence here today for the 2025 NCE referral fieldwork is not only an honour to the State but a testament to the collaborative spirit that drives the civil service forward.”
She added that the present administration is committed to supporting and contributing meaningfully to the ongoing deliberations. According to her, Oyo State’s shared insights and field-level collaborations could help build a civil service that not only meets today’s demands but also anticipates future needs.
“We are particularly pleased to host this important engagement, which addresses critical memoranda aimed at strengthening the architecture of our public service. The creation of new specialist cadres in healthcare and treasury management, alongside the recognition of emerging professional bodies, reflects a bold vision for a more inclusive, dynamic, and future-ready civil service,” she said.
In her remarks, the representative of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Esther Olatunji, commended Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration for its commitment to prioritising the welfare of workers in the state.
