The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, will officially be crowned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, the Oyo State capital, at a coronation ceremony scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025.
It was gathered that Governor Seyi Makinde has given formal approval for his nomination, paving the way for the historic installation.
Our correspondent confirmed that a state delegation visited Oba Ladoja and members of the Olubadan-in-Council at his Bodija residence on Wednesday to finalize arrangements ahead of the coronation.
Speaking on the development, the monarch’s media aide, Chief Adeola Oloko, confirmed the date to Tribune Online. He stated: “Oba Ladoja will be enthroned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, 26 September 2025.”
According to the announcement, the coronation ceremony will take place at the historic Mapo Hall in Ibadan, a traditional venue for major cultural and political events in the city.
Meanwhile, Tribune Online reports that Oba Ladoja, on Tuesday, held a closed-door meeting with the kingmakers at his private residence on Ondo Street, Old Bodija, in Ibadan North Local Government Area. The meeting, which lasted for close to two hours, was the first since his return following the demise of the immediate past Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.
