It was a colourful and memorable gathering on Sunday, August 17, 2025, as family members, friends, associates, religious leaders, and well-wishers converged on the residence of Alhaji Azeez Ayinla Beride to celebrate his retirement after years of remarkable service and commitment to community development.

The event, which blended spiritual reflection with intellectual engagement, began with special prayers and an Islamic lecture delivered by Alhaji Jimoh Ajewumi, Chief Missioner of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society, Tede. In his sermon, Alhaji Ajewumi urged the celebrant to remain steadfast in gratitude to Almighty Allah and reminded the audience that retirement should be embraced as a period of renewed service to humanity and preparation for eternal accountability.

The highlight of the day was an inspiring retirement lecture presented by Alhaji Daud Olugbade Aderogba, titled “Wealth and Wellness: The Twin Pillars of a Fulfilling Retirement.” Drawing from scripture, practical experience, and societal realities, Aderogba emphasized that financial prudence and sound health are inseparable foundations for a purposeful post-service life. He admonished retirees to adopt a lifestyle that balances economic planning with spiritual devotion and physical well-being, stressing that retirement is not the end, but the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunities to impact lives.

Several distinguished guests took turns to speak glowingly about the celebrant. Dr. Lukman Adisa Salami (Adamawa) described Alhaji Beride as a disciplined, upright, and compassionate figure whose legacy extends beyond his immediate family. Comrade Ajuwon Ibrahim praised his humility and consistency in community service, while Alhaji Tajudeen Egbinola highlighted his generosity and ability to mentor younger generations. In the same vein, Mrs. C. A Olawuwo, Mulikat Beride, Taiwo Salaudeen, Mukaila Beride and other well-wishers delivered heartfelt tributes, each eulogizing the celebrant for his dedication, kindness, and impactful leadership.

In his remarks, the celebrant, Alhaji Azeez Ayinla Beride, was visibly filled with gratitude. He first offered thanks to Almighty Allah for His guidance and mercy throughout his career and personal life. He extended appreciation to his wife, children, and extended family for their unwavering support, and expressed profound gratitude to his friends, associates, and the entire organizing committee for planning what he described as a well-coordinated and truly memorable retirement programme.
The atmosphere remained charged with goodwill as prayers, speeches, and reflections continued late into the evening. Guests not only celebrated the milestones of Alhaji Beride’s journey but also acknowledged the enduring values of discipline, faith, and service that defined his career and personal life.
The retirement event thus stood as both a celebration of legacy and a call to purposeful living, leaving lasting impressions on all who attended.
