President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has conferred the national honour of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on all 24 players of the Super Falcons, in recognition of their outstanding performance and contribution to Nigerian football.

The honours were bestowed during a presidential reception held in Abuja on Monday to celebrate the victorious team. The event attracted top government officials, sports administrators, and stakeholders in Nigerian football.
In addition to the national awards, President Tinubu announced a generous reward package for the team. Each player is to receive a cash reward of $100,000 and a three-bedroom apartment. Members of the technical crew will receive $50,000 each.
The Nigerian Governors’ Forum also announced a separate reward of ₦10 million for each of the players.
The President praised the team for their discipline, patriotism, and excellence on the field, noting that they had not only made the country proud but also inspired millions of young Nigerians, especially girls, across the nation.
The Super Falcons recently achieved significant success on the continental and global stage, reaffirming their status as the most decorated female football team in Africa.
