The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has debunked viral rumours claiming that its Anambra governorship candidate, Ambassador Jude Ezenwafor, is dead.

The clarification comes following widespread social media reports alleging that Ezenwafor was killed after being ambushed and shot in the legs in Abuja.
To dispel the speculation, the PDP Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, alongside Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, visited Ezenwafor at his country home in Anambra on Monday. The visit was seen as a strong public statement against the false reports.
Photographs and videos of the visit showed the party leaders in good spirits with Ezenwafor, who appeared calm and in recovery.
“This is a reminder that people — including the media — should verify information before spreading falsehoods,” a party official noted during the visit.
Ezenwafor, who was recently declared PDP’s candidate for the upcoming Anambra governorship election, is said to be recuperating and in stable condition.
The PDP urged supporters to disregard misleading claims and focus on preparations for the forthcoming polls.
