As part of activities marking his first anniversary in office, the Executive Chairman of Olorunsogo Local Government, Hon. Olayanju, has lined up a series of events aimed at showcasing completed projects, empowering residents, and reinforcing community engagement.

The three-day celebration is scheduled to kick off on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, with a special thanksgiving prayer at the local government secretariat by 10 a.m. The event will serve as a moment of reflection and gratitude for what the chairman described as a productive year of service to the people of Olorunsogo.
Later the same day, a friendly football match will be held at Ogunbode Grammar School by 4 p.m. The sporting event is designed to foster unity and promote youth participation in community development through recreation.
Thursday, June 26, will focus on infrastructural development, beginning with the official commissioning of a newly completed borehole project at 12 noon. The borehole, located along Olosun Road behind Chief Adetoro’s house, is expected to enhance access to clean water for residents in the area. Shortly after, attention will shift to UMCA Grammar School, Igbeti, where the chairman will flag off the construction of a new volleyball court—part of his administration’s efforts to provide recreational facilities and promote physical well-being among youths.
The final day of the anniversary activities, Friday, June 27, will start with a town hall meeting at Bellas Hall by 10 a.m. Hon. Olayanju is expected to deliver a comprehensive report of his administration’s achievements over the past year while engaging directly with residents on issues of governance and development.
At 2 p.m. that day, an empowerment programme tailored for local farmers and elderly women will be held at Ogunbode Grammar School. The initiative will see selected beneficiaries receive various forms of support to improve their economic standing and overall welfare.
Since assuming office on May 24, 2024, Hon. Olayanju has focused his administration on grassroots development with particular emphasis on healthcare, education, and social support systems. The anniversary celebration, according to the council, is not just a commemoration of milestones but a reaffirmation of the chairman’s commitment to inclusive and responsive leadership.
All residents of Olorunsogo Local Government Area have been encouraged to attend and participate in the week’s events, which are intended to reinforce the bond between the council and the communities it serves.
