The Ogun State Police Command has declared popular musician Habeeb Okikiola, also known as “Portable,” wanted over his alleged involvement in a violent attack on government officials carrying out their lawful duties.
The incident occurred on February 5, 2025, at around 10:00 AM, when officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office—identified as TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—were enforcing building regulations in Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota.
During the exercise, the officials met an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father, at Odogwu Bar in the area. After introducing themselves and requesting the approved building plan, they were informed that Portable was unavailable.
However, shortly afterward, Portable allegedly arrived at the scene armed with a firearm and other dangerous weapons, leading a group of nine thugs in an attack on the unarmed officials. The victims sustained injuries but managed to escape and reported the incident to the Ota Area Command. The case was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
While nine of the assailants were arrested, Portable reportedly fled and has since evaded multiple invitations from the police to appear at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta. His refusal to honor these invitations prompted authorities to obtain a valid court order for his arrest.
The police have urged the public to assist in locating the fugitive, warning that anyone found harbouring or aiding him will face legal consequences.
