With profound gratitude to Allah for a life filled with grace and purpose, the passing of Princess Kadijat Abike Adebisi Edionseri (née Elegbede), fondly known as “CASH MADAM,” has been announced. She returned to her Creator on January 5, 2025, at the age of 89, following a brief illness.
A great mother and a pillar of the Muslim community, Princess Edionseri was fondly known as Iya Suna Egba, Iya Suna Yewaland, and Iya Suna Ogun State. Her remarkable dedication to her faith and community was on full display during her final public appearance at the installation of Muslim Chiefs in Ayetoro on Sunday, December 29, 2024. It was a fitting farewell to the Muslim community in Ogun State, a week before her passing.
In a statement on behalf of the family, Dr Adebayo Adebowale described Princess Edionseri as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was marked by wisdom, kindness, and unwavering faith in Allah. “She touched countless lives with her grace and resilience, leaving a legacy of love and faith that will inspire generations to come,” he said.
Princess Edionseri was deeply cherished for her warmth, tenacity, generosity, and the enduring values she instilled in her family and community. Though her physical presence is no more, her spirit and teachings will forever remain a guiding light.
Her funeral has been scheduled to take place on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 4:00 PM, at her residence in Abeokuta GRA, by Islamic rites.
The family prays for Allah (SWT) to forgive her shortcomings, grant her Jannatul Firdaus, and provide them with the strength to bear this monumental loss.
