Yahaya Bello Complies with EFCC Summons Following Supreme Court Ruling

Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has once again complied with an invitation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), presenting himself at their office on Tuesday morning. This follows a recent Supreme Court decision that dismissed Kogi State’s case challenging the anti-graft agency’s constitutional authority.

A statement from Bello’s media office confirmed that he voluntarily attended the EFCC office with his legal team. Driving himself in a black Hilux, the former governor reportedly arrived with his lawyers to address allegations of financial misappropriation leveled against him.

The visit is tied to ongoing legal proceedings, with the EFCC pursuing a fresh case against Bello. During the last court session on November 14, the anti-corruption agency sought an adjournment to November 27, citing a 30-day window for the summons issued earlier.

This development underscores the EFCC’s continued pursuit of accountability and highlights the legal challenges faced by the former governor.
