Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde visited former Governor and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, at his Ondo Street residence in Ibadan North Local Government Area on Wednesday evening. The visit centered on the upcoming presentation of a ceremonial beaded crown to High Chief Ladoja.
High Chief Ladoja recently announced on Fresh FM 105.9 that he would accept the crown, emphasizing that this would not change the Olubadan’s status as the sole recognized monarch of Ibadanland.
Sources indicated that Governor Makinde and High Chief Ladoja discussed the development of Ibadanland and Oyo State during their closed-door meeting. The visit was described as cordial, akin to a son visiting his father.

The ceremonial crown presentation, initially scheduled for this week, has been postponed to next week, following the Olubadan-In-Council’s meeting at the ultramodern palace in Oke-Aremo, Ibadan.
