The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Oyo State Chapter, joins the global community to commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child.
Chairperson, Oyo NAWOJ, Mrs Omolola Alamu, said With the Theme: “Girls vision for the future” This year’s theme resonates with NAWOJ’s commitment to promoting girls’ education, health, and protection.
Mrs Alamu however urged the Government to
Increase investment in girls’ education and skills development.
Oyo NAWOJ also appeals to the Government for the Protection of girl children from child marriage, violence, and exploitation.
The chairperson of OYO Nawoj also advocates Equal access to healthcare and economic opportunities for girl child to fulfill their quota in the nation’s development.
Mrs Alamu therefore called on stakeholders, and individuals to prioritize girls’ empowerment for a brighter future.
